Whats the deal with Grooveshark?

So. You might have heard about grooveshark. It's supposed 'internet radio', But you choose what to play. So it's basically like having free reign to the iTunes store, being able to play any song from start to finish, for free.

According to Wikipedia, Grooveshark is an internationally available[2] online music search engine, music streaming service and music recommendation web software application, allowing users to search for, stream, and upload music free of charge that can be played immediately or added to a playlist.[3]

There is a catch though. If you want to download the music, you have to pay. So this is how it's legal. But these days, with programs like TotalRecorder that allow you to record the audio from your PC, is this site the next Napster? I hope not.
